Dear clients!
The situation related to coronavirus has changed dramatically in a very short time. In addition to the health aspects, this also involves important economic issues.

The Ministry of Finance has already issued special regulations concerning coronavirus (GZ.2020-0.178.784). We may briefly summarise the special regulations for you.
The prerequisite for the application of the measures listed below is in all cases that the taxpayer can credibly demonstrate that it is affected by a liquidity bottleneck that is specifically attributable to a SARS-CoV virus infection. This includes, for example, unusually high cancellations of hotel reservations, cancellation of sporting and cultural events due to official bans, failure or impairment of supply chains or loss of income due to changes in consumer behaviour.
Advance income or corporation tax payments for 2020
- Advance payments for 2020 may be reduced or set at zero euros. These applications can be submitted until 31.10.2020.
- The tax office will refrain from assessing interest on arrears if the reduction or omission of the advance payment results in interest on arrears in the assessment of income tax or corporation tax for 2020.
Levy collection
- Deferment and payment by instalments can be applied for. However, the application must credibly demonstrate the concrete affectedness.
- In the context of a deferral or instalment payments, interest on deferrals shall be waived.
- It is also possible to apply for a reduction in late payment penalties or not to have them imposed at all. These often occur in connection with the payment of VAT arrears within the framework of the monthly VAT statements.
The ÖGK (Austrian Health Insurance Fund) has also announced that contributions can be deferred or paid in instalments, citing liquidity bottlenecks due to the current crisis, and likewise interest and surcharges will be waived upon request.
Please let us know if, in addition to our day-to-day services, you also need support and advice with the above-mentioned services. We will be happy to assist you in this regard at any time.
